I love New Caledonia, and am lucky to have friends there that make the visits so rewarding. I have been to the remote north coast camping, and driven around a small part of the countryside. I have also spent time in Noumea, and its hard to describe the vibe, its South Pacific with a flair from France underlying culture and providing great services for a small population. (Around 270 thousand over the 350-400km of the main island AND all the outlying islands like the Loyalty Group. Its easy to have a relaxing holiday here.
